Description
The Akita Inu or the Japanese Akita dog is a dog breed that originated in the Akita province on the Japanese island of Honshu. The Japanese call this dog the "treasure of Japan". For a long time it was used for hunting mainly large animals such as wild boar, deer and bear. The results of genetic studies have shown that the Akita is one of the 14 oldest dog breeds. The color is red-white, white and brindle, the dog must have "urajiro" - whitish hair on the sides of the muzzle, cheekbones, lower jaw, neck, chest, body and tail, as well as on the inner surfaces of the limbs. Akita feels great both in a city apartment and on the street.
Character
Akita Inu dogs have an incredible demeanor and are patient with children, making them good family members. They need love, affection and communication with a person. They are loyal to their masters and, despite their loyalty and devotion, have a strong character and willpower. In general, the Akita Inu character is receptive, obedient and calm. This versatile breed has independence of thought, patience and good trainability.
Hachiko
In 1932, an Akita Inu named Hachiko became famous throughout Japan. Hachiko met the owner every day, returning from work on the train. Once the owner died at work, but the dog waited for him at the station for several hours. For 9 years after the death of the owner, the dog came to the station at the same time and waited for his return from work. After his death, in view of the wide resonance, a day of mourning was declared in the country, and a monument was erected to Hachiko.
